Description: by David Killion

The Badlands is located about 15 miles over the Illinois border NE of Danville, Ill. It is about 460 miles from the KC area and takes about 6-7 hour to get there. This park was one of the very first privately owned parks to open in the US by Troy Myers. Fees are $15 per day or $20 for 2 days and $5 per passenger per day. Flags are required to be 2 feet above the top of the roof. They have them for $10-$15 at the park. The Badlands is just on the outside of town, so there are full amenities in Attica. There is also a mechanics and fabrication shop in the park, as well as a hamburger stand. They have just opened a campground in the park.

In 1995, Troy made his dream come true. He purchased the Old gravel quarry in Attica, and "The Badlands" was born. He knew it would be the prefect place for bike riders, as he had ridden the Pits as a boy. As the park grew, Troy and his wife purchased additional land, and now offers that land to 4wheel drive vehicles, as he loved that sport as well.

The Badlands off-road park consists of several people working together to give you the most awesome time you can have off-road. They provide some of the best trails; from mild to wild, in this part of the country. The staff consists of professional people with backgrounds in machine trades, business, mechanics, design, medical, and law enforcement. They have a well-rounded staff to help you with all of your needs.

The "Badlands" ORV Park is a privately-owned tract of about 700 acres in western Indiana, about 30 minutes south west of Lafayette. It is owned and operated by the Myers family. It is literally a smorgasbord of off-road riding: sand dunes, pea gravel hills, bottomless mud, the tightest off-camber woods trails, extreme rock crawling, drop offs, hood-deep water, etc. You name it, it's probably here.

This park has been used for the past 8 years by Let's Go Jeepin' which teaches all levels of off road driving. It has been featured in several magazine articles as a premier off road park in the Midwest. This park has a set of rules and waivers. They have sanctioned competitions through NEUROC and CALROCK.
